The Fair Oaks Village Enhancement Committee(FOVEC) was formed to explore a possible unified vision for the future of the village to make it a viable and attractive location for the community and Sacramento region
The FOVEC vision include recommendations and a plan that addresses buildings, parking, street use, street beautification and lighting, public signage, public and open spaces within the immediate village area.
The FOVEC is a volunteer group sponsored by the Fair Oak Chamber and the County of Sacramento to provide input to possible future strategies and designs for the downtown village area.
The FOVEC is working with an acclaimed local urban design firm to provide concept plans to share with the community in a collaborative visioning process.
The FOVEC has a steering committee made up of a broad cross section of the local community including; property owners, businesses, Public Districts, the County, and residents.
The FOVEC will strive to establish and implement a strong public participation element during its visioning process.
The FOVEC intends to eventually pass on its recommended plan to the County planning department and the Board of Supervisors for their consideration as a guideline for the future redevelopment of the village.
The FOVEC will work with local, regional, State and Federal sources to seek planning and implementation grants as necessary to compliment its current budget.
Current funding for the design consultant is provided by the County of Sacramento.
A final draft plan is expected to be completed in spring, 2008.
